Chiropractic Adjustments

Sports Rehab

Chiropractic adjustments do more than just relieve back and neck pain. It restores proper joint mobility and function directly, without just masking the symptoms of the underlying problem, which in most cases of back pain is the result of joint and soft tissue restriction. This allows you to not only have pain relief, but also noticable improvments in range of motion. It's not just for your spine either, chiropractic care also helps restore proper extremity joint function.
It's important to address joint dysfunction, but it's equally as important to address muscle, ligament, and tendon issues that contribute to an injury or the reason why someone is having pain. With sports rehabilitation we focus on improving your sports performance by addressing and correcting muscle weaknesses and joint instabilities.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a technique used to break up scar tissue, myofascial adhesions, and trigger points that form in the layer between your skin and muscles called fascia. This area is highly innervated with nerves, and can be a significant source of pain for patients. In fact, recent research supports the effects of IASTM and other myofascial release techniques are attributed to stimulating various nerve endings located in the fascia and muscle. This can relieve muscle spasms and myofascial stiffness through complex neurological feedback loops. IASTM increases blood flow to the area and relaxes tight muscles, which helps promote healing and increases your range of motion.

Nutritional & Exercise Counseling

We understand that what you put into your body has a lot to do with what you get out of it. For many patients, lack of a quality diet and little to no exercise are the main reasons why they have pain or just feel unwell. We encourage patients to eat a healthy diet and begin exercising by giving them the tools they need to get started.

In our office we offer supplements to you based on what your dietary needs are, and the supplements that can help decrease your pain and inflammation to speed up the healing process. We want to help you realize that eating healthy is a lifestyle, not just another diet.

Rock Tape

When RockTape is applied to the skin, it has a microscopic lifting effect between the skin and the many layers of fascia and connective tissue below. This allows the by-products created by inflammation to be removed more quickly. It is unique in the fact that it supports the area while allowing full range of motion. It also decreases pain, decompresses tissue and provides stiumlus that improves body awareness.

Flexion Distraction

Flexion distraction is a technique used primarily for treating disc injuries. Disc's have a very poor blood supply and heal slowly after being injured. The disc gets the majority of its blood supply and nutrients from movement that pumps new fluid into the disc. The table we use in this image allows us to passively move the patient in several planes of motion and decompress the spine. This aleviates the pressue on the disc and allows it to exchange nutrients it needs to heal.

We also use this technique to stretch tight muscles in the lower and mid back.
